I believe art is one of the most beautiful ways we connect with the world around us and with one another. I’m James Babcock, the CEO of Century Art Hub, and my journey has always been shaped by a deep appreciation for creativity, craftsmanship, nature, and the stories that make each of us unique.
I was born into a family with German and American roots/Western Cape, South Africa. I am the eldest of three siblings, and my family has always been an important part of who I am. Today, I live in a small town in Pennsylvania, surrounded by beautiful mountains and peaceful landscapes that continually inspire my appreciation for beauty and creativity.
Outside of my work in the art world, I enjoy the simple pleasures of life. I have spent much of my life around boats and horses, and I love being on the water on a quiet afternoon, enjoying good food, great conversation, and a glass of wine. I have also spent many memorable years traveling by RV and discovering the beauty of the outdoors.
I once enjoyed skiing both on snow and water, but these days I have developed a special appreciation for snowshoeing. There is something extraordinary about moving slowly through a peaceful trail, taking in the scenery, and simply enjoying the moment.
Creativity is also very personal to me. I enjoy handmade quilting, an art form that reminds me that patience, craftsmanship, and attention to detail can transform individual pieces into something meaningful and beautiful.
At Century Art Hub, I bring that same appreciation for craftsmanship and individuality to the world of art. My goal is to help create a space where artists, collectors, and art lovers can discover, appreciate, and celebrate exceptional creativity.
I believe art should inspire curiosity, create emotion, preserve stories, and bring people together.
And above all, I believe life is meant to be enjoyed. I love to laugh, appreciate beautiful surroundings, spend time with good people, and never lose sight of the simple things that make life special.
